Hybrid working model

Published on

Social responsibility often sounds like something external - donating, supporting causes, helping others. But at Softquo, we believe it begins at home. Being responsible also means building a company that actively improves the lives of its people. That’s why we adopted a hybrid work model.

Studies show it works. Commuting drops by 10–15%, emissions go down, and 71% of surveyed employees see flexible work as essential for a healthier balance. For Irma Carolina Camacho, QA Tester in Málaga, that balance is clear in her daily life: “Not commuting every day gives me more time for personal growth and well-being - and that makes me more efficient and motivated.”

And that’s the key: freedom to choose. In Colombia, Sebastián Jaramillo, Product Owner, splits his week into two worlds: “At home, I focus on tasks that require concentration, while office days are perfect for meetings, reviewing things as a team, or aligning ideas quickly. I also really value that human contact.”

For others, the choice looks different. Fernando prefers a mostly remote rhythm, only heading in every few weeks: “I work remotely, but I go to the office once every end of Sprint, every three weeks. I catch up with colleagues, strengthen ties between departments… Honestly, if you ever hear me complain, give me a nudge - I’d deserve it!”

Evrim Yaylagül, Game Mathematician in Istanbul, reflects on how this change shaped his perspective: “It gave us flexibility and taught us how to collaborate effectively across distances. That original sense of collaboration and shared purpose has remained, and that’s something I truly value.”

This is what our hybrid model is really about: trust. A culture that allows people to balance life and work, reduce the stress of commuting and still stay connected across countries. As Claudia, QA Analyst, puts it: “We are all from different cities and work 100% remotely, so we all have to trust each other - and in this team we’ve achieved that.”
In our 2024 employee survey, 97% of people said they feel integrated, listened to and supported by their team.

Unity across distances

That sense of unity doesn’t happen by accident - we take responsibility for making the model work. We create structures that keep people connected: our S-Team platform helps colleagues find each other, join social groups and contact the People Department with full transparency whenever in need of support.

We encourage regular team meetings, organise events where people can meet face to face and train managers to support distributed teams.

And when we do meet in person, the joy is obvious. “For me, the best moment - and probably for many - was the summer party,” says Nicolás. Claudia adds: “I have so much fun at the parties - chatting, dancing… even getting on stage to sing!”

What matters is not the desk we sit at, but the impact we create for our wellbeing, our planet and the community we share.
